I made flower songpyeon for Chuseok :) This Chuseok, many of you may be spending the holiday at home instead of going to the countryside. How about making songpyeon with your family and enjoying it~ Some of my subscribers left comments saying that they live abroad and really want to eat rice cakes but have a hard time finding rice flour, so this recipe is for you to make songpyeon at home with rice flour you made yourself by grinding rice in a mixer. If you steam the songpyeon and rinse it in cold water, you can eat it with a chewier texture. Since the cooked rice cake hardens quickly, it is recommended to rinse the songpyeon, apply sesame oil, place it in a steamer, and then make the jeolpyeon decoration. If you are using dry rice flour, add half the amount of water and leave in the refrigerator for more than 2 hours, then adjust the color and steam again. If you are using unsalted flour, add 4g of salt per 400g of rice flour.
