According to data from the Government Delegation, Aragon recorded the lowest crime rate in 2014 in the last 12 years. In the Community there are 30 criminal offences for every 1,000 inhabitants. How and why have these figures improved? The reporters of “Unidad Móvil” accompany some of the 6,381 agents in Aragon, including the National Police, Local Police and Civil Guard, in their work. A reporter from the programme works the night shift with a unit of the SAC of the National Police, the Citizen Service, which responds to calls made by citizens to 091. Robberies, domestic violence and street fights are the most common criminal acts that this Unit faces. The UAPO is made up of agents from the Local Police of Zaragoza and was created in 2008, the year of the Expo, as a special unit to ensure citizen security and to provide support to the rest of the police units. Their patrols are made up of more than five members, in case they have to act in risky situations. A reporter from the programme accompanies a ROCA team from the Civil Guard, whose mission is to monitor and combat theft in the countryside. On the other hand, the prevention and maintenance of public safety is the main mission of the Reserve Unit of the Civil Guard.
