The Shocking Story of Mr. George: 85 Years of Life in the Village In today's journey we travel to Valaora Evrytania, a small but rich in stories village in mountainous Greece. We had the honor of meeting Mr. George Tsiambokalos, an 85-year-old man who tells his life story with simplicity, wisdom and emotion. Through our conversation, we traveled back in time to his childhood, we heard about life in the village before the civil war, the difficulties of the era and everyday life. Mr. George told us about the times when the village was full of life, about the traditions, the festivals, but also about the poverty, the adversities and the resilience of the people. Through his stories, we got to know better the collectivity and solidarity that characterized the community. We heard about the absence of roads, the first radio that reached the village and the difficulties of survival. Special mention was made of the tragic memories of the civil war that scarred the area and its inhabitants.
