In this video I show you all the delicious things you can make with green spelt groats. I don't know green spelt... it doesn't taste good! I'll prove you wrong! ** Recipes ** Green spelt patty: (approx. 10 pieces) Ingredients: 1 cup green spelt groats 3 cups water 2 tbsp soup powder 1 shallot / onion 1 small bunch of parsley (3cm leek) 1 small egg 2 tsp salt 1/2 tsp pepper 1 pinch of nutmeg 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (small garlic clove, turmeric, chilli powder) Sunflower / rapeseed oil Instructions: Boil the green spelt groats in soup stock, stirring constantly. Then leave the mixture to cool for 30 minutes. In the meantime, finely chop the shallot, parsley and possibly leek. Then fold everything into the lukewarm mixture. Beat in an egg. Season to taste with salt, pepper, nutmeg... Add breadcrumbs and knead well. With wet hands, shape into the desired patty and fry in oil on a high heat until golden brown. Tip: With freshly baked pretzel rolls and side dishes, you can make a really delicious green spelt burger! Alternatively, enjoy with chips and a tzatziki dip :D ) Green spelt spread: Instructions: Boil the green spelt groats in soup stock, stirring constantly. Then allow the mixture to cool for 1 hour. In the meantime, finely chop the shallot, parsley and possibly leek. Then fold everything into the cold mixture. NOTE: DO NOT use eggs with green spelt spread! Season to taste with salt, pepper and nutmeg. Depending on the amount, add 1-2 tsp of medium-hot mustard. Add as much olive oil or melted butter until the desired consistency is achieved (approx. 2-3 tbsp). Leave the green spelt spread in the fridge for at least 1 hour (or better overnight). Tip: There is no better snack than freshly baked bread with green spelt spread!
