The shocking story of Mrs. Vasiliki. In the village of Petsalia, in the heart of Etoloakarnania, we met a woman whose life could be a movie script. Mrs. Vassiliki Trichia, at the age of 83, opened the door of her home and her heart to us, sharing with us a story full of struggle, courage and inexhaustible strength. Her childhood was hard. He grew up in a large family, eight siblings crammed into one room, sleeping on the floor and sharing the meager food. From a young age she was forced to work hard in the fields, carrying wood, picking tobacco and olives, to help her family survive. The thirst for a better life led her to Athens and then to Germany. She still remembers her first night in Germany, when the interpreter took her straight to the factory where she would be working. From the very next day, Mrs. Vasiliki started working tirelessly, working overtime to send money back to Greece. After ten years in Germany, now married, she decided to return to Greece. The adjustment was difficult, but life had other trials in store for her. Her husband fell ill and died, leaving her alone with her daughter. Later, she herself was diagnosed with cancer, but managed to emerge victorious from this battle. Today, Mrs. Vasiliki lives in her village, surrounded by her garden and her memories. She enjoys the peace and healthy life of the countryside and wishes more young people would follow her example. The story of Mrs. Vasiliki is a story of strength, perseverance and love for the country.
