Przemyśl, a thousand-year-old city, during the Austrian partition (1888-1914) was transformed into a ring-shaped fort of the 1st class, the third largest in Europe. Around the city, on a perimeter of 45 km, 44 main and auxiliary forts were built on the hills. In June 1915, the Przemyśl fortress ended its war career forever. Currently, the forts are in ruins, but we saw them anyway. We were surprised at the artillery fort I Salis-Soglio by its size, power and strength.
