The electric motor consists of a rotating part - the rotor and a stationary part - the stator. There are direct and alternating current electric motors. The latter are divided into synchronous and asynchronous. Asynchronous electric motors, in turn, are divided into asynchronous motors with a short-circuited rotor (the so-called white cage) and a phase rotor, and according to their functional purpose, into: general industrial, crane, elevator, excavator, trolleybus, tram, automobile. The electric motor is a part of the electric drive of transport (elevating and transporting) vehicles, in particular conveyors, mine lifting installations, etc. Today, electric motors are used in many household appliances, for example: washing machines, microwave ovens, VCRs, hard drives, CD players, fans, lawn mowers, etc.; in large quantities are used in: machines, equipment, robotics, toys, electronic equipment. The importance of electric motors for today's modern industrial society is also reflected in energy consumption: electric motors account for more than 50 percent of electricity consumption, for example, in Germany.
