In this episode, we once again have the participation of the eminent professor Carlos Nougué. We talk about the cinema of Andrei Tarkovsky, the works of Gustavo Corção and GK Chesterton, a narrow-minded false morality present in many Catholic circles that leads to an erroneous judgment of the arts, in addition to other relevant issues. We follow the thematic line of the previous episode with the theme of the arts as its central topic, on which Professor Nougué published in 2018 a dense and profound work on philosophy (“Da Arte do Belo”, Edições Santo Tomás), founding a Science of the Art of Beautiful. We, at Centro Cultural Ávila, are dedicated to addressing in our written or audiovisual productions themes relating to Catholic doctrine and philosophy, as well as arts such as cinema and literature.
