Where does our waste go? This episode of our streaming format "Check Out Celle - Discovering Together!" deals with the topic of garbage, scrap and recycling. How do I throw things away properly? What goes in which garbage can? Is garbage even garbage, or can you make something else out of it? And where does the garbage that 70,000 Celle residents produce every day go? Our presenting duo Jana and Simeon went to Celle to find answers to these and other questions. Early in the morning, Jana helped empty the bins for residual waste and was even allowed to ride on the garbage truck. At the Celle Waste Management Association, she found out how to properly dispose of your garbage in Celle and at the waste disposal plant in Altencelle, she learned how to properly separate your garbage. Simeon went to the Struck recycling yard in Hambühren, where Celle's most famous scrap dealer, Kalli Struck, explained a lot of exciting things to him about scrap. Jana and Simeon then welcomed two guests live in the studio: Jessica Kryschak from the “Food-Saving-Celle” initiative in Buntes Haus eV reports on how food in Celle is saved from the trash and reused. And Kalli Struck had prepared a musical surprise for the viewers.
