The Seiganji Temple Front Folding Screen, a little-known masterpiece painted by Iwasa Matabei, has been completely dismantled and repaired. The entire repair process, which took place over a period of three years from 2018, was filmed and made into a documentary film. Iwasa Matabei's Seiganji Temple Front Folding Screen is currently on display at the Museum of Kyoto as part of a special exhibition entitled "The Blooming Culture of the Townspeople: The Face of Early Modern Kyoto." [Exhibition Information] Period: Saturday, June 5th - Sunday, July 25th, 2021 Venue: Special Exhibition Room, 4th Floor, Museum of Kyoto Organizers: Kyoto Prefecture, Museum of Kyoto Opening hours: 10:00am - 6:00pm (7:30pm on Fridays) *Last admission 30 minutes before closing
