Van Rossem Vertelt is about the murder of a mayor. That is of course shocking news and does not happen often. This story takes place 600 years ago in the city of Utrecht. On August 21 in the year 1425, a number of butchers enter the home of the then Mayor Beernt Proys on the Oudegracht. When they find him in bed, they immediately stab him to death. Butchers who slaughter a mayor in cold blood. Why? Nowadays, you mainly have ideological parties that fight for power. Right-wing parties against left-wing parties. In the past, you also had royalists against the republicans, but in 1400 the battle for power in the city was between the powerful families de Lokhorst and Lichtevoord.
