The Audi TT RS Coupé iconic edition, limited to 100 units for Europe, celebrates the success story of the Audi TT Coupé. Since the debut of the first model series in 1998, the Audi TT has stood for driving pleasure, design and attention to detail. These characteristics are now further underlined by the limited iconic edition, which combines exclusive interior and exterior design elements with the sporty DNA of the RS variant, equipped with the award-winning 2.5 TFSI 5-cylinder engine with 400 hp. Timeless. For almost 25 years, the Audi TT has been an icon of Audi design. Now, the new Audi TT RS Coupé iconic edition accentuates the distinctive dynamic characteristics of the model and makes its style even more exclusive. “A car for true enthusiasts.” This is how the brand with the four rings presented the Audi TT Coupé concept at the IAA Motor Show in Frankfurt in the fall of 1995. Characterised by symmetrical lines and strikingly geometric shapes without sharp edges, it immediately won over the public. Three years later, the coupé went into production almost unchanged from the show car, followed in 1999 by the Roadster variant and, now in its second generation, by the high-performance S and RS versions. The Audi TT RS Coupé iconic edition is available in Nardò grey, inspired by the legendary Italian racetrack where the Audi RS models covered their first kilometres during their development phase. The vehicle’s exclusivity is underscored by the all-black finish of the Singleframe and the front grille, as well as the quattro lettering in matt titanium look. The lower edge of the side skirts, the Audi rings, the model designation and the side mirror caps are all in high-gloss black. The specific 20-inch 7-spoke alloy wheels, also in high-gloss black, partially conceal the black brake calipers, while the triangular rear windows feature the evocative “iconic edition” lettering. The Audi TT RS Coupé iconic edition uses a specific aerodynamic kit developed in the wind tunnel, which guarantees high downforce values. The package includes a splitter, blades at the ends of the front bumper, side skirts, aerodynamic profiles behind the rear wheel arches, extractor and fixed carbon spoiler with gooseneck supports. The aesthetic package is completed by the generous oval exhaust pipes. The interior of the Audi TT RS Coupé iconic edition is characterised by the two-tone RS sport seats with side bolsters in fine Jet Grey Nappa leather. The central section of the seats is in black Alcantara with Calendula Yellow honeycomb stitching and the “iconic edition” designation at shoulder height. The latter is replicated along the mats, while the side armrests, the console and the eyelid of the digital instrumentation Audi virtual cockpit share the Jet gray leather upholstery with contrasting stitching. The steering wheel rim with a notch at 12 o'clock is in Alcantara. No less exclusive is the finish of the gear selector lever, characterized by the numbered badge identifying the individual unit. The interior trim is completed by the Bang & Olufsen audio system with 3D sound. Audi TT RS Coupé iconic edition uses the iconic 5-cylinder 2.5 TFSI engine with 400 hp and 480 Nm of torque, awarded the title of best engine in the 2 to 2.5-liter category by the Engine of the Year award jury for nine consecutive years. The abbreviation TFSI refers to turbocharging and direct gasoline injection: a technical combination that Audi, the first manufacturer in the world, has dedicated to series production since 2004. The 2.5 TFSI works in combination with the seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission and the quattro permanent all-wheel drive with electrohydraulic multi-plate clutch. Inside the clutch is a package of discs in an oil bath. The system detects the behavior of the vehicle and the driving style, adapting the distribution of thrust – fully variable – between the axles in real time. The Audi drive select driving dynamics control system allows the driver to choose between four different driving modes that influence, in addition to the action of the quattro drive, the steering calibration, the engine delivery, the transmission management logic, the exhaust note and the setting of the Audi magnetic ride shock absorbers (standard). The Audi TT RS Coupé iconic edition, weighing 1,475 kg, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 280 km/h, which is self-limited. Thanks to the 1-2-4-5-3 ignition sequence, the five-cylinder engine's sound is unmistakable, especially at high revs where it takes on a scathing tone. The Audi TT RS Coupé iconic edition is expected to arrive in Italy during the first half of 2023 at a price of 127,700 euros.
