※ This video is part of the September 16, 2020 broadcast of <A Very Special Journey - Native Dog (犬) Records Part 3. Donggyeongi>. On the second Saturday of every month, people who raise Donggyeongi gather in one place. That place is Donggyeongi Training School. Donggyeongi, who is smart and follows people well, quickly follows the training given by the trainer. Donggyeongi, the tailless dog that protects Gyeongju, is the representative dog of Gyeongju, Gyeongsangbuk-do. It is the oldest dog in Korean native dogs according to literature, as a Donggyeongi-shaped earthenware was discovered in a tomb from the Silla Dynasty in the 5th to 6th century. Donggyeongi, which was on the verge of extinction, was able to come back to us through a restoration project that started in 2005. Thanks to these efforts, it was designated as Natural Monument No. 540 in 2012. It is said that Donggyeongi can only be recognized as a native Donggyeongi if it has no tail at all or has a short tail. The village of Daegok 1-ri, Geoncheon-eup, Gyeongju-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do is a unique village where only Donggyeong lives. In 2018, Donggyeong was selected as a preservation village, and the villagers raise Donggyeong without a tail. Grandfather Song Gil-joong, a resident of the village, takes Donggyeong with him everywhere. Despite the grandmother's persecution, asking him to stop the dog and help her pick peppers, the grandfather does not give in and goes everywhere with Donggyeong. Let's listen to the story of the grandfather who enjoys even the hot summer with Donggyeong. ✔ Program name: A very special journey - Native dog (犬) records Part 3.
