28/11/2019 Observatory and planetarium Brno www.hvezdarna.cz/program QUANTUM COMPUTERS: REVOLUTION OR DEAD STREET? doc. M.Sc. Karel Lemr, Ph.D. Jr., Faculty of Science, UP in Olomouc, Regional Center for Advanced Technologies and Materials For several decades, scientists have been trying to apply the advantages of quantum computing in practice. Even though theoretical findings testify to the great potential with which quantum physics could enrich the field of computing technologies, a number of technological obstacles have so far prevented its implementation in practice. The aim of the lecture will be to present a realistic vision for quantum computers in the near future. We will explain how quantum computers work and how they differ from classical computers. Subsequently, we will show where the path to their use will probably lead and where it probably won't. To the topic: https://www.ibm.com/quantum-computing...
