Friction shaft 1m63 The friction shaft is installed in many types of universal machines (such as the 1m63 lathe, DIP300) and serves to transmit torque using friction discs. The friction shaft is manufactured on lathes. The splines are cut on a spline milling machine, then they undergo heat treatment on a high-frequency current unit and are ground. A hole for the rod is drilled in the shaft at one end, grooves are milled for the stud and rocker arm. With the help of the rod and rocker arm, the left or right half of the clutch is engaged, which ensures spindle rotation counterclockwise (normal rotation) or clockwise (reverse). In the center of the shaft, an accelerating clutch is installed on the splines. It serves to smoothly transmit torque to the main units of the friction shaft. The friction clutch consists of two halves that are not connected to each other. Left and right. The first row of disks are mounted on a splined shaft and rotate with it. These disks are not connected to the clutch housing. The second row of disks are fixed in the grooves of a toothed housing called a basket or cup. The friction shaft basket is the most heavily loaded part. If the machine is handled incorrectly, the teeth of the cup can be torn off (spindle braking by reverse, abrupt switching of the rotation speed, bypassing the neutral position).
