✔️ This video is part of <Korean Travelogue - Ecstatic Isolation Part 1 'Like Robinson Crusoe'> broadcast on December 28, 2021. Galdo is a beautiful island that can only be reached by borrowing a ferry from Yokjido in Tongyeong, Gyeongsangnam-do. We met Jang Jong-su (58), the only resident of Galdo who lives with the South Sea as his front yard. Jong-su started the uninhabited island life he had vaguely dreamed of after climbing the Himalayas four times. Jong-su's treasure trove is where the small police station used to be, with the blue sea right before his eyes. These days, he is remodeling the abandoned school into his own movie theater! Just like Robinson Crusoe, he is making the uninhabited island Galdo his own hideout. It may look like a desolate and isolated island from the outside, but Galdo, a small and quiet island in the middle of the blue sea, is said to be a freer space than any other place for Jong-su. Today, German chef Dario came to visit Jong-su. Dario also takes care of Jongsu's work and enjoys the uninhabited island life while looking at the sea in front of the house.
