About :

In this video I show you 7 tricks on how to get large cells in the acrylic flow technique and, above all, how to KEEP them! The key to success is to have to move the picture as little as possible. To achieve this, you should follow the following 7 tricks: 1. Moisten the canvas a little before pouring, this will make the colors flow better. 2. Prepare enough paint so that the poured colors flow quite far to the edge of the canvas. To calculate the appropriate amount of paint, you can use the ArtResin Calculator, which gives you an amount for one layer of synthetic resin for each canvas size, i.e. the result of this calculator is tight, so you should prepare a little more paint than stated there. Here is the link to the ArtResin Calculator: https://www.artresin.com/pages/calcul... 3. Silicone oil: less is more! More silicone oil does not create more cells, on the contrary. 4. Heat first, then move. 5. Use all available heat sources (hair dryer, butane burner, heat gun) to exhaust all possibilities of getting cells. 6. Fill the gap between the poured paint and the edge of the canvas with white or flow medium. 7. By swirling with your fingers, break the surface tension of the paint so that it can flow faster and easier. Here (????) are a few reference links to Amazon. If you order through them, it won't cost you a cent more, but I get a very small commission, which helps me a lot! Moisten the canvas prior to pouring. 2. Preparing a sufficient amount of paint with the help of https://www.artresin.com/pages/calcul... 3. Silicone oil: Less is more! 4. First torching, then tilting! 5. Use all heating devices you have to optimize chances to get all kinds of cells. 6. Fill the gap between the pour and the edges of the canvas with white or a pouring medium. 7. Break the surface tension of the paint with your finger while tilting. These trick help to *tilt as little as possible*, because the paint flows better, faster and more easily, and this is key! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My recipe (serves as a rough orientation only): 2 parts pouringmedium 1 part paint 1 part of a mixture of 50 % pouring medium and 50 % distilled water 1 - 2 drops of silicone oil per ounce Mixing the colors for the acrylic flow technique: Take Floetrol or whichever flow medium you are using and pour some of it from one beaker into another. Watch closely how it behaves when it flows. THIS is EXACTLY how your paint should behave. When it hits the rest of the paint in the cup, it should sit on the surface for a split second before sinking in and creating a smooth surface. If the paint runs off the spatula in clumps, it is too thick; if it drips off the spatula, it is too thin. Nothing can really go wrong with this recipe. Have fun! - - Mixing the paint for the acrylic pouring: The right consistency for your paints: they have to run off the popsicle stick in exactly the same manner as your pouring medium, in one continuous stream.
