This is the story of a child who had to flee Volhynia during the tragic events of World War II. Mr. Ryszard tells the story of the dramatic moments when he and his family were forced to leave their home in fear of attacks by Ukrainian nationalists from the UPA. His memories are full of fear, pain and loss, but also of extraordinary courage and the will to survive. In the interview, he describes in detail the escape, hiding from the Bandera supporters and the help they received from strangers. Ryszard Skarżyński also recalls memories of people who were not so lucky and fell victim to the Volhynian Massacre.
