To get particularly close, the waterfall path is worth taking. 24. Lake Bled The next excursion destination is in Slovenia. There is a beautiful mountain lake there, Lake Bled. Jungfraujoch To get to the Jungfraujoch you take a funicular through the north face of the Eiger and then stand at the top of the Top of Europe. From the viewing terrace you have a sensational view of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau and the Aletsch Glacier. 19. Olpererhütte suspension bridge In reality, the suspension bridge at the Olpererhütte is just a small, inconspicuous bridge. If you take the photo from the right perspective, it looks as if the bridge is floating above the Schlegeis reservoir. 18. Königssee The Königssee lies like a fjord, surrounded by mountains in the Berchtesgaden Alps. You have a great view from the Malerwinkel. Otherwise, the boat trip to St. Bartholomä and the Röthbachfall is worthwhile. 17. Drei Zinnen Climbing experience is required to reach the highest point of the Drei Zinnen at 2999 m. But you can also just hike to the Drei Zinnen hut or climb up to the Sextner Stein. 16. Karersee The Karersee lies in front of the imposing rock towers of the Latemar. The town is car-free and you can admire the mountain giant almost everywhere. 11. Neuschwanstein Castle To visit this fairytale castle you have to drive to Allgäu. My tip is to climb through the Pöllat Gorge and then over the Marienbrücke. 10. Lake Lugano A great vantage point is Monte San Salvatore in Ticino. Up here you can get up onto the roof of a church and have a sensational view over Lake Lugano. 9. Pragser Wildsee There is usually a lot going on at Pragser Wildsee. That means it is best to come early in the morning and then enjoy the circular route for yourself. 8. Chamonix The place at the foot of Mont Blanc is well worth seeing. In Chamonix you can drive up the Aguille du Midi and enjoy the view of the high alpine mountains. 7. Morteratsch Glacier The Morteratsch Glacier in Switzerland is the longest glacier in the Eastern Alps with a length of up to six kilometers. 6. Breitachklamm The Breitachklamm near Oberstdorf is the deepest gorge in Germany. The path leads over narrow footbridges directly along the rushing river. 5. Little Tibet In the Zillergrund lies the cozy alpine pasture, which is also known as Little Tibet. 4. Grawa Waterfall The Grawa Waterfall in the Stubai Valley. This is the widest waterfall in the Eastern Alps. 3. Eibsee The Eibsee is beautifully located below the Zugspitze massif and shines in turquoise and blue tones. There is a great circular route. 2. Soča The Soca in Slovenia is, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful rivers in the Alps. A cool hike leads from the source of the Soca to Bovec. 1. Seceda This beautiful mountain pasture in Val Gardena impresses with its view. The imposing rock towers of the Geisler peaks rise up in the background.
