Once upon a time, the special interest channel BahnTV was an advertising medium for the DB, with interesting old videos. One film of it, 24/8, by amateur filmmakers around Joachim Hammer from the BSW (Bahn-Sozialwerk) Düsseldorf, with footage of the depot in Düsseldorf-Derendorf from 1971. It shows a day on the steam locomotive from its takeover to its storage in the depot, beautiful footage despite the 8mm narrow film quality of the old film. The video has been posted because it is an interesting, old-time documentation that should remain accessible for posterity, who no longer know this everyday work! The depot was demolished a long time ago, and the area that was vacated has since been redeveloped. The steam locomotive 052451-2 shown was decommissioned for scrapping on June 9, 1974.
