Xavier Niel, the famous founder of Free, hosted a conference on the subject of start-up creation and entrepreneurship at Sciences Po in Paris. This outstanding entrepreneur, a gifted person of his generation, has achieved dazzling success by investing in the telecommunications sector. A know-how that Xavier Niel was kind enough to share with the French and international students present at the masterclass entitled "How to create and develop your start-up". Questions concerning the future of the entrepreneur, how to succeed as such, whether you need the right degree to undertake, overcoming the difficulties related to entrepreneurship, etc., are addressed with the sponsor of the 42 school of computer developers, Xavier Niel, during the conference. The Center for Entrepreneurship at Sciences Po raises awareness among Sciences Po students about entrepreneurship and technological innovation, incubates innovative start-ups; and fuels the public debate on entrepreneurship and innovation. It offers Sciences Po students of all levels and all programs conferences, study trips, and a wide range of courses, from introductory to advanced. Each year, 20 courses and workshops, taught by teachers from the world of entrepreneurship and innovation, are attended by more than 350 students. The themes range from initiation to entrepreneurship to design thinking, including pitching, business planning, and computer coding. More than 100 innovative startups have already benefited from incubation within the Sciences Po incubator, at a rate of around fifteen per year since 2008. Our entrepreneurs benefit from a comprehensive support offer, including access to premises, legal and accounting support, a Business Angels fund, training workshops, bimonthly peer-to-peer learning meetings, inspirational afterworks, and a mentoring program. Finally, the Centre for Entrepreneurship at Sciences Po supports research on topics related to the study of entrepreneurship and innovation as socio-economic and political phenomena. This work is carried out in conjunction with researchers from Sciences Po laboratories such as Medialab, LIEPP and the Centre for the Sociology of Organizations. It focuses in particular on the study of the place of women in the entrepreneurial phenomenon today, the balance between digital regulation and freedom of entrepreneurial innovation, social biases in entrepreneurial success, the governance of start-ups in the face of financial markets, etc. These "action research" projects, which are intended to find rapid application in the field, aim to nourish the thinking of public and private decision-makers.
