Daniel Wihler is responsible for the fresh produce counters in his supermarket. At the age of 26, he was already managing his own department in the Rewe supermarket in Grünwald near Munich. Here he works as a department manager for the service counters and is responsible for the meat, sausage and cheese and the bakery. Thanks to his qualifications, for example as a meat sommelier, he can increase his salary and earn more as a result. In addition to the money, selling and organizing is also a job that he really enjoys. Even if he only grew into the tasks bit by bit. An internship at the supermarket during his school days made him curious: he was impressed at the time that he was allowed to take on responsibility so quickly, for example as a cashier. That's why he decided to train as a retail salesman after school. Rewe then offered him the opportunity to specialize during this training: as a delicatessen retail salesman. This paved the way for his career as a service counter in the supermarket. Daniel was then given further support with several additional training courses and has continued to develop. Most recently, he became a "meat sommelier," which qualifies him even more for his job. After having already managed a smaller service counter at another Rewe store, he is now doing it at the larger store in Grünwald. His goal: in the next few years, he wants to be responsible for an entire region. That would mean even more responsibility - but of course also a higher salary. Here he is working towards a net salary of €3,000. But Daniel already has a lot of responsibility in the store: he has to meet the sales targets for his area, which are set for him by his sales manager. He takes care of the duty rosters and wishes of the 11 employees in his area. He says: his team is the most important thing - if that works, the store works too. That's why he himself is happy to do an extra Saturday or early shift, for example, so that his employees have one less. They are happier then - and he has less stress. Further additions to the film: Daniel says he saves around €25 a month thanks to the 5% employee discount he gets at Rewe. This is an estimate from Daniel, which can therefore vary slightly from month to month. We are there in the film when Daniel checks the sales figures for the week. Of course we asked how high the amount was (😉) and would have liked to have disclosed these figures for you. Rewe and in this case Daniel did not want that, which we accepted, as the core of the film is Daniel's salary and this was transparently disclosed. #Job #Salary #Training This is "Is it worth it?": One person, one job, one life. And at the end the question: Is it worth it? We accompany people in their jobs and show their lives. Is it worth working for the salary and using it to finance your own life? What makes me happy at work? We don't just compare salaries, we show how people live from their work. We are always looking for protagonists: If you also want to show how you live with your job, feel free to write to [email protected]! On a personal note: We are not infallible either - and although we make every effort to present every individual financial situation clearly, correctly and understandably, we sometimes need help. The Bavarian State Association of Tax Advisors and Auditors always provides us with competent support - thank you very much for that!
