It's finally time for winter fishing! HiltunenLaura and Esko sawed a net opening in the 40-centimeter steel ice on Christmas Eve and lowered the winter nets to catch them. Now we're trying to fish from a slightly different spot than last winter. The catch in one day wasn't mind-blowing, but the number of catches was surprising. Nothing but fish came out of the net! I could say that this wasn't one of the most successful experiences with the net. ???? Some people like to use nets that are a bit too high for that. The mesh size is basically 35-40 mm. around, when the target fish are perch and whitefish, but it's apparently possible to catch carp from that direction too. The slightly smaller carp will catch on to that mesh size too! There should be enough water between the winter nets and the ice so that the net doesn't get stuck in the ice later when the ice mass increases. It's not very deep there, so I thought I'd go to the shops and buy a slightly shallower net. Note! This is part 1 of my Christmas net fishing. I'll post another video about catching fish and handling it next week. ???? Until then, see you! ????
