We must imagine Christopher Nolan as a lucky man, because he has achieved something incredibly rare in Hollywood: he has made himself independent of the whims and fashions of the culture industry, which primarily wants to systematically under-challenge the audience. Today, demands are seen as unreasonable. "Tenet" stands in the way of this worrying development and relies on the thinking viewer. One thing is already clear: we will not only talk about this film for a long time, but we will also refer to it in future discussions when we try to understand the conflicts that are coming ever closer to us - and ourselves. #ChristopherNolan uses the means of a spy film - the references to James Bond are unmistakable - and with fabulous actors - above all: John David Washington, Robert Pattinson and Elizabeth Debicki - to tell a story that is by no means just intended to illustrate a physical thought experiment; this film is rather very specifically about us and climate change. Nolan seduces us to abandon linear thinking and seeing in order to gain clarity and to find a way out. “Tenet” is less related to #Inception than to #Interstellar. More on this from Wolfgang M.
