Potosi, a small mining town located 4,200 meters above sea level in Bolivia. There are about 200 boy miners in the 'Cerro Rico Mine' where silver ore has been mined every day for 400 years. We meet Pedro, a 13-year-old miner who works in an 800-meter underground tunnel during the day to support his family and dreams of the future at school at night. Pedro's dream is to become a lawyer. However, he also knows very well that achieving that dream is by no means easy. Pedro's primary goal is to finish high school on his own. It may be a modest goal to others, but to him, it is a precious promise to himself that cannot be exchanged for anything.
