When we made the choice to come and live in the woods, we were aware that it would not be a choice just for us but also for our families and friends. We have always wanted a small refuge, an uncontaminated place where even the people we love could find serenity and where they could escape for a while, leaving behind the frenzy of the city. On these occasions, I like to take the time to prepare food and offer something made with love. In a society where pre-packaged food is the norm and where quality is more in the packaging than in the food, I believe that being able to eat something simple and homemade is even more valuable. True luxury lies in the little things that we too often sacrifice and I truly believe that a plate of handmade gnocchi is a great luxury. Mati
