Variators of the Chinese company WanLiYang are almost a complete copy of variators of the Jatco company. The general architecture is identical. But Chinese variators break faster. Even barely noticeable differences were enough for the Chinese variator to be more problematic than the Japanese analogue. Most often, these Chinese variators await repair due to wear of the bushing in the hub and the input shaft. Although the Jatco variator does not have any problems with this unit at all. What is the reason? Firstly, for some reason, Chinese engineers made the hub and shaft slightly longer - about 5 mm longer than Jatco. And this was enough for the slightly changed geometry to significantly affect the wear of the shaft even with its minimal distortion. And secondly, it seems that Chinese engineers missed the mark with the lubrication of this unit. Fortunately, the unit is repairable, there are enough spare parts for it and their prices are lower than those of the Japanese box.
