About :

How we remove the propeller shaft housing (seal housing, bearing housing) from the outboard motor gearbox in different ways in case of severe corrosion. How to unscrew the aluminum nut from high-power gearboxes. This method of removing the housing is used in cases where the gearbox has strong or close to strong oxidation. Sometimes the housing can be pulled out without much effort. In order to avoid having to heat the housing and spoil the paint next time, all threaded connections, seals, and the housing are lubricated during assembly. Then, if necessary, disassembly is much faster and easier. With such souring, pouring something into the gearbox and waiting for it to sour is useless. In high-power gearboxes, one must not forget about the gear shift axis, which can be inserted into the groove of the sleeve connected to the pusher of the ratchet gear shift mechanism (depending on the model and engine power), thus, when trying to pull out the clip by pulling the shaft, the axis will not allow the shaft to come out. Therefore, it is necessary to first remove the gear selection axis, and then pull the shaft. Some gearboxes have their own features for dismantling the propeller shaft clip.
