Diversion traffic makes it possible: A Ludmilla in front of a Eurocity! Due to construction work, ECs were diverted between Munich and Salzburg on September 6th, 2014. The Ludmilla 232 571-0 (DB Schenker) was also in use and pulled the EC 113 from Munich Central Station that day. The 232 571 still has the old fans and has a really gigantic sound! First you can see how the 232 571 shunts to the EC, then there is a bit of Ludmilla idling and then the engine is switched off to couple it. After the engine has started again, the train leaves the station, during which the driver shows us (there were a few spotters on the platforms) a really bombastic exit with the engine roaring, loud (old!) fans and you can even hear another fan switching on. You can see during the video that my hands were shaking a little as the train drove past. ;-) A big thank you goes to the train driver who put on this show without asking us and who you can tell really enjoys the machine himself! :) 06.09.2014, Munich Central Station
