Lachin district is an administrative-territorial unit in the Republic of Azerbaijan. The administrative center is the city of Lachin. There was one city, one settlement (Kaygi settlement), and 125 villages in the region. It is located in the south-west of Azerbaijan, in a mountainous area. It borders Kalbajar from the north, Khojaly, Shusha and Khojavand from the east, Gubadli district from the south, and Armenia from the west. The distance between the district center and the city of Baku by highway is 450 km, and the distance between the Khankendi railway station is 60 km.
