In this new video, we bring you different shots taken on the main axis of freight transport and commuter trains, specifically, in the Councils of Mieres and Llanera. In addition, we include a shot taken on the El Valle railway. ArcelorMittal Asturias is the largest steel plant in Spain and, in addition, the only integrated steel plant in the country. In order to produce steel, it is first necessary to melt the iron in the blast furnaces, with coke as fuel and limestone as flux. In the video we can see trains loaded with limestone, coming from the Naranco quarries, in Oviedo, which transport the rock in powder form to the blast furnaces in Veriña. Later, the molten pig iron is transported in large torpedo wagons, like the one that appears in the video, to the Avilés factory, where the carbon content is reduced and impurities are filtered. Likewise, other minerals are added that complete the steel production process. Finally, the steel is rolled and exported in galvanized coils and tinplate. In the video, we can see some of these trains with canopies that transport steel products, as well as rail trains. Finally, we can comment on the large tonnage of cereal transported from the interior of Castile and Leon, as well as the busy commuter lines that, complemented by the Feve lines, provide excellent mobility to the region. #trains #renfe #Asturias
