The General Security Directorate in Tartous announced the thwarting of an arms smuggling operation that was heading from Syria to Lebanon through illegal crossings. The Directorate confirmed the confiscation of the weapons and missiles in coordination with the Intelligence Service in Tartous after continuous monitoring and surveillance before they entered Lebanese territory. Al Arabiya's Middle East Advisor Ali Hamadeh: Since the fall of the Assad regime, Hezbollah has been trying hard to smuggle weapons into Lebanon.
