BMW HERO SÜDTIROL DOLOMITES 2024 COURSE: 86km 4,500hm RACE TIME: 7h 13min WEATHER: HARD In this video we tell you about our Hero Südtirol Dolomites 2024, a long route of 86km and 4500 meters of altitude difference. MTB Marathon race in the Dolomites, on the Sellaronda, starting from Selva di Val Gardena at 7.25 in grid G3. 1st climb to Dantercepies and then a short descent on a dirt road to Passo Gardena. 1st descent almost entirely on single track to Corvara in Val Badia, the trail is very smooth and does not have any technical sections. From Corvara 2nd climb to Pralongià and then to Passo Campolongo. 2nd descent with some short technical sections to Arabba (here stop at the first refreshment point). From Arabba you reach Ornella and then 3rd climb to Sourasass. This is the most challenging climb of the entire route and the gradients are often above 20% with peaks of 29%. The ground is often loose and in some sections it is necessary to get off the bike and walk. On this climb we walked for about 200 meters. The GPM of Sourasass is at 2500 meters and we found 4th with a lot of fog (here stop at the second refreshment point). From Sourasass descent in some technical sections due to the muddy ground towards the asphalt climb of Passo Pordoi and climb on asphalt for about two kilometers up to the Pass. The 3rd descent is very fast and smooth and you reach Canazei, here you are in Val di Fassa. Halfway down the descent third refreshment point. The 4th and last climb of the tour is to Passo Duron. At the top of the fourth GPM you descend for 4 kilometers pedaling in the wonderful Alpe di Siusi on a very smooth dirt mule track; fourth refreshment point (we didn’t stop) and from here the last short uphill stretch of 3km to the Zallinger on compact ground and easy slopes. Final descent to Selva di Val Gardena without any pitfalls.
