Mat got his hands on the all-new 992.2 generation Porsche 911! He flew to Spain to test drive the all-new 911 and while it may just be a mid-life facelift, there are a few updates that set it apart from its predecessors. First up, it’s the first Porsche 911 to feature hybrid technology! For now, it may only come in the GTS edition, but it easily delivers some serious performance from this new sports car! It’s powered by a 3.6-litre turbo engine that produces 541bhp and 570Nm – 61bhp and 40Nm more than its predecessor! How does the hybrid system work? Well, you’ll have to stick with Mat to find out! As for other changes, the exterior is relatively similar to the previous car. The turn signals are now integrated into the headlights, and there are fins in the front bumper that can be opened and closed to allow for better airflow for cooling purposes. The side profile is almost identical to the previous edition, while at the back we find centrally mounted exhaust pipes along with a redesigned light bar. Stepping inside, the interior is classic Porsche, although there is one big change - the driver's display is now fully digital! For the first time, the 911 doesn't have an analogue rev counter, but that's not a bad thing - there are plenty of displays to choose from, and the positioning of the display means the steering wheel shouldn't block your view. The thing is, it doesn't come cheap! If you want to go for the hybrid GTS edition, expect to spend £139,000! And that's before you add any options! So is it worth it? Mat will find out in a moment...
