The way we receive Holy Communion is not a simple formality. It expresses our faith in the Most Holy Body and Blood of Our Lord. This is the reason why the Holy Church, in her wisdom, has commanded us to receive Holy Communion on the tongue and kneeling: this is the universal law of the Church. In this way, adoration and humility become visible, so as to reproduce in our flesh the abasement of the Word of God.
