Valeska Zanello will address the subjective constitution, psychic illness and mental health of women in sexist societies such as Brazil, using the analytical categories of the loving and maternal devices. She will delve into the theme of the construction and propagation of masculinities and the device of efficacy (men's homes and complicity, erotic imagery and violence), and will point out techniques for intervention in gender and violence (explicit and implicit) against women. The purpose of the meeting is to address paths for a non-sexist education and for the deconstruction of gender technologies present in the main cultural manifestations (music, films, series, etc.). Lecture from the module Challenges and possibilities of contemporary love, by Renato Noguera and Carol Tilkian Challenges and possibilities of contemporary love Few things connect people as much as love. Love is the subject of songs, books, bar conversations and therapy. There is no one who does not have love issues and does not want to be happy in love, but, paradoxically, at a time when there are more and more possibilities for love, it seems less and less possible. How can we understand this paradox? As the opportunities to have relationships increase, complaints about the lack of interesting people also increase. According to data from IBGE, currently 1 in every 2.4 marriages ends in divorce and this number continues to grow. In less than 20 years (from 2004 to 2021) divorces increased by 196% and in the last 10 years the average length of marriage has fallen from 17.5 years to 13.8 years. At the same time, interest in open relationships has grown significantly in recent years. We believe that this is not just a discussion about relationship formats, but also about desires, ideals, possibilities, expectations and impossibilities of love. The objective of this series of recordings of Café Filosófico CPFL, curated by Renato Noguera and Carol Tilkian, is to deepen the discussion about the main romantic dilemmas of contemporary times, bringing theoretical basis and historical perspective in simple and engaging language. Thus, each episode aims to bring new perspectives, knowledge and tools so that we can be happier in romantic relationships that are more possible and less idealized.
