The promulgation of Organic Law 19/2003, of December 23, amending Organic Law 6/1985, of July 1, on the Judiciary, represents a profound transformation in the organization of the Administration of Justice and in that of the personnel serving it. This reform revolves around the modification of Book V of the LOPJ, which implies a profound transformation of the judicial office, and of Book VI of the same Organic Law, which regulates the basic legal status of the bodies of civil servants serving the Administration of Justice. After various stages, the current situation was reached, in which Book VI of the LOPJ (Arts. 470 to 540), drafted in accordance with LO 19/2003, dated December 23, has the purpose of determining the Legal Status, as provided for in Art. 122 of the Spanish Constitution, of the officials that make up the Corps of Forensic Doctors, of Doctors of the National Institute of Toxicology and Forensic Sciences, of Procedural and Administrative Management, of Specialist Technicians of the National Institute of Toxicology and Forensic Sciences, of Procedural and Administrative Processing, of Judicial Assistance and of Laboratory Assistants of the National Institute of Toxicology and Forensic Sciences.
