After Solomon's death, the nation of Israel was divided into two kingdoms: "Israel," the ten tribes in the north, and "Judah," the two tribes in the south. 19 wicked kings ruled over Israel, and Judah had a total of 20 kings. However, eight kings of Judah are testified to have done "what was right in the eyes of the LORD" (Asa, Jehoshaphat, Joash, Amaziah, Uzziah, Jotham, Hezekiah, Josiah). Reformational renewals and revivals occurred under the reigns of most of these kings. We look at their history using 2 Chronicles to discover principles for biblical revival that apply to all time.
