The almost 23 km long Wieslauftalbahn has connected Schorndorf in the Remstal via Rudersberg on the Wieslauf with the former district town of Welzheim since 1911. With a maximum gradient of 25 per mille between Rudersberg and Welzheim, it is steeper than the Geislinger Steige. We accompany one of the steam trains of the DBK Historische Bahn, which, after the mountain route was reactivated in 2010, travel from Schorndorf to Welzheim on Sundays and public holidays from May to October.
