In a large part of the Netherlands, weather warnings for snow and slippery conditions are in effect on Thursday. In Limburg and Noord-Brabant, code orange is in effect until noon, which will then change to code yellow. Gelderland is in code yellow for almost the entire day. In the other eastern provinces and in Utrecht and Zeeland, code yellow is in effect from 9 p.m. The warnings are in effect until Friday morning. Housing subsidies are not a miracle cure for getting more homes in the Netherlands. This is the warning issued by the Central Planning Bureau (CPB) after research. Such subsidies have only a limited effect on the number of homes built when house prices are rising, as is currently the case. According to the important advisor to the cabinet, there is also a major risk that subsidies will drive up land prices.
