In the village of Borač near Knić, Dejan Milošević bought two and a half hectares of land, which he divided into 25 plots and gave all those plots as gifts to people who wanted to feel in touch with nature and the countryside. Dejan is not a rich and powerful man, but an ordinary worker employed at the PUK "Šumadija" in Kragujevac. I am a spiritually rich man. All my ancestors, both on my father's and my mother's side, were born in Borac, in the villages of Miloševići and Popovići, where I bought land to give it to others. I returned to my ancestral home ten years ago when I saw that one village after another was being shut down in Borac. So that his village would not suffer the fate of many abandoned villages in Serbia, Dejan decided to buy two and a half hectares of land and settle other people on it. The weekenders who built houses on donated lots, and there are about 30 of them, have a total of 35 children, which increased the number of inhabitants in Borac by 65 people. Almost half of Šumadija can be seen from their properties in Borac; Gledićke mountains, Rudnik, Goč and Gružansko lake. With his human gesture, Dejan at the same time wanted to restore part of the former glory of Borac, which in the Middle Ages was a large, fortified city where the despot Stefan Lazarević had his residence. Not only his name is associated with Borač, but also the names of many other Serbian rulers, starting from Emperor Dušan, Prince Lazar to Radič Postupović and Miloš Obrenović. The church in this village was built in the time of King Dragutin. Below it is a cemetery with monuments that are half a millennium old. From those monuments and motifs carved into the sandstone, one can read a lot about those who rest in the cemetery in Borac.
