After its dismantling in the 16th century, the powerful fortress remained abandoned for 450 years... By buying this castle, Axelle Letellier, architect, has fulfilled her childhood dream. Her passion for the Middle Ages also pushed her to entrust the restoration to Pascal Warringo. Because it is with the techniques of the time that this mason, companion of the Tour de France, carries out the work. With him, we share the know-how of the builders but even more the customs and traditions of this medieval society, much more modern than one might think. Then we head to Corrèze to discover another enthusiast, Pierre Gire. It is in Xaintrie that this trained pastry chef, self-taught in history, has carried out his great work: the construction of a medieval farm that is more real than life. We end our journey through history in Cordes Sur Ciel, the oldest fortified town in Occitania, where Pascal Warringo has settled with his association of medieval builders. Today, he is one of the most renowned restorers of historical monuments in Europe.
