Shifting gears for a TRACTOR equipped with a 1-3 gearbox without synchro, 4th and 5th gears are equipped with synchros. If we were to shift from first gear to second gear (similarly from 2nd gear to 3rd gear), then after starting the first gear we depress the clutch, take off the gas (release the gas pedal), shift into neutral, release the clutch, depress the clutch and we engage a higher second gear and, if necessary, add gas to continue the next drive.... The third gear is usually used for starting and then we shift without squeezing the clutch twice and then fifth gear (again without squeezing the clutch twice. When downshifting (shifting down) from fifth gear to fourth gear we also do not have to squeeze the clutch twice (nor do we have to give intermediate gas). When downshifting from fourth gear in third gear, we must first slow down the speed, depress the clutch, shift into neutral, let go the clutch, by sharply adding gas (more or less intensively depending on the driving speed and engine speed - e.g. approx. 2200 rpm) we increase the engine speed and thereby equalize the rotation speed of the individual gears in the transmission, then we squeeze(squeeze) the clutch and shift into a lower gear in this case third gear. The same applies when shifting from 3rd to 2nd and also from 2nd to 1st gear. Pay particular attention to slowing down the vehicle in time and downshifting before going downhill. We must never let the vehicle roll down a hill in such a way that it loses control. Attention, if we do not manage to downshift in time while driving downhill and we would no longer be able to hold the vehicle on the brakes - it can start uncontrollably and the consequences are unforeseeable... SHIFT OUT OF GEAR WHEN DRIVING DOWNHILL IS PROHIBITED.
