We have reached our twentieth episode, so now it is time for NR-20: OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY WITH FLAMMABLE AND COMBUSTIBLE MATERIALS. Published by ordinance 3,214/78, it is classified as a “special standard” by ordinance 787 of 2018. Since its publication to date, it has undergone six amendments. What does the standard say? NR-20 establishes minimum requirements for OHS management in processes related to flammable and combustible liquids in extraction, production, storage, transfer, handling, and manipulation activities. It is worth remembering that for the purposes of characterizing unhealthiness and dangerousness, the provisions set forth in NRs 15 and 16, respectively, must be applied. It is also worth mentioning that NR-20 does not apply to platforms and support facilities for the purpose of exploration and production of oil and gas in the marine subsoil, as defined by NR-37. Furthermore, NR-20 also does not apply to single-family residential buildings. The standard defines, in item 20.3, what flammable liquids and flammable gases are, and in item 20.4 divides the classification of facilities by classes, according to table 1 (with the exception of what is contained in annex II). For classification criteria, the type of activity takes priority over storage capacity. Check out other details about the Standard in the video. A big hug to everyone and SEX TOU!
