This startup was founded in 2009 with the original idea of ​​developing a sports car with low fuel consumption. This idea was reconsidered and RIVIAN began to develop electric cars. At the end of 2018, the company introduced two purely battery models - the Rivian R1T pickup truck and the Rivian R1S SUV, which I have now tested. Other electric innovations from this American manufacturer will soon be available, namely the R2 and R3 models. Although the RIVIAN automaker is currently reporting losses on the sale of its cars, it has a promising future ahead of it. This year, an unexpected event occurred - the signing of a business agreement between Volkswagen and Rivian on joint software development. This electric SUV, which I had the opportunity to test, is not officially sold in Europe and is an individual import from the USA. RIVIAN currently does not have a service center in Europe. The tested R1S model was in the Dual Motor version, i.e. with an electric motor on each axle, and it was the Max Pack version with a 149 kWh battery located in the floor.
