2/11/2024 Starting from Riale (1718 m), a hamlet of the Municipality of Formazza in the province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, we travel along the snowy dirt road, which crosses the cross-country ski slopes in the lower part, and which leads to the Maria Luisa Refuge. Before having lunch at the Refuge, we climb another short stretch to the dam of Lake Toggia (5 min from the Refuge), where we observe the frozen lake and the surrounding snow-capped mountains. The route is simple and suitable for everyone.
