An illness is spreading. It is the reason for the mysterious disappearance of memories and ultimately of people themselves. A poetic and musical radio play about the journey of a scientist. ********************************* More radio plays from Deutschlandfunk Kultur: https://www.deutschlandfunkkultur.de/... ABOUT THE PIECE: The file RAVENNA.DOC was found on a laptop discovered in the south of Italy. Excerpts from this document form the basis for this radio play. The piece tells of a researcher's journey through Italy, while an illness she describes as "the disappearance" is spreading in Europe. The time cannot be clearly determined, but suggests the near or only slightly distant present. In the files of one of her patients who was infected by the disappearance, she stumbles upon the exact same characters as in the diaries of an ethnologist who traveled to Italy in the early 20th century to research tarantism and its healing power through music, but slowly realized that the subject of her research had made her a research object herself.
