An energy self-sufficient farm and the Swiss method of pig breeding. These are the main attributes of the family company Farma Choťovice, whose history dates back to 1993 with the purchase of restitution shares. The company focuses on agricultural primary production - plant and animal. Currently, this family farm, where the 11th generation of farmers works within the family, employs 40 permanent employees. The Choťovice farm is also an example of the modern use of waste not only from pig farms. The concept of a circularly operating business is operated on the farm, which provides electricity and heat for the entire farm and the adjacent hotel with restaurant and wellness. As part of animal production, the farm mainly focuses on breeding pigs and cattle. In pig breeding, the so-called Swiss method of feeding and breeding is applied, with an emphasis on the immunity and health of the animals. The result is very tender, easily digestible meat with a short cooking time. The entire system was implemented in Switzerland as early as 1995 and today stands at the top of the highest ethical and environmental standards with an emphasis on achieving the highest quality and safety of food for consumers. The animals live in a clean environment and the breeding is free of genetic modifications, hormones, antibiotics and other overused medications. Pork from Choťovice Farm is tender and juicy. And for one simple reason. Everything takes place in one place. Birth, breeding and the very slaughtering and processing of meat. The animals are not transported anywhere and are therefore not stressed. They process roughly 40-50 pieces of pork here per week.
