Who won and who lost the most politically? For whom was it a good year and for whom was it not the best? In a special edition of the podcast "Polityczne Michałki", Michał Szułdrzyński and Michał Kolanko sum up the last 12 months in politics. It was a year of problems in the coalition, two election campaigns and geopolitical tensions. The year of Trzaskowski, Tusk's challenges Rafał Trzaskowski may think that it was a good year for him. He won the elections for the president of the capital and the primaries in the Civic Coalition. - Trzaskowski worked in the field so that the structures of the Platform supported him unquestionably. And so it happened, despite the fact that Sikorski was a strong opponent, at least in the image layer - Michał Kolanko said about the primaries in the KO (which Trzaskowski himself proposed). Earlier, Trzaskowski won the presidential elections in Warsaw for a second term. But the KO staff realizes that this will be a very difficult presidential campaign in 2025. And it will not be like the ones this year, which Trzaskowski won. As for Donald Tusk, as Michał Szułdrzyński noted, the latest polls on moods and the situation in the country are not a good sign for the prime minister. - Just before the holidays, CBOS published a survey on moods and the direction in which Poland is heading. More than half of people thought that things were going in the wrong direction and I have the impression of such an interesting crossover. On the one hand, the Platform is first in the polls. Some sometimes show that PiS is taking the lead recently, but for now the Platform is leading in most polls. Donald Tusk has returned to the top of the trust ranking after years, but at the same time the conviction about the economic situation or the direction in which things are going in the country is unfavorable for the government - said Szułdrzyński. Tensions in PiS, Nawrocki's chances PiS has placed the president of the IPN as a candidate in the presidential election - announcing him as a civic candidate, from outside the party. – Behind the scenes, PiS campaign staff members say that the beginning of the campaign, i.e. the phase this year, was more lively than the analogous phase of Andrzej Duda's campaign in 2014 – said Kolanko. Of course, this does not rule anything out yet, but Nawrocki's nomination gives him – in the opinion of the interviewees – a chance for a political career within PiS after his term in the IPN ends. Nawrocki also shows himself to be a man "of the people", which is also supposed to be one of the conclusions of the PiS staff after the elections in the USA. The podcast also discussed the situation of Trzecia Droga, the Left and Sławomir Mentzen, who may be one of the most important players in the presidential elections. – It seems that we also have to take into account the scenario in which Konfederacja will be the third force in the presidential elections – said Kolanko.
