Feel free to read more in my blog ⏩ https://bit.ly/Lungenentzündung_Blog Regardless of whether it is due to a cold, a bacterial infection, swine flu or specific viruses such as the #coronavirus: #pneumonia can occur as a complication of these infections, particularly in so-called "high-risk individuals". Many of us, especially as children, have already had pneumonia, which is what this pneumonia is called in a "smart" way. In concrete terms: in Germany, around 400,000 ❗ people contract pneumonia every year. The disease can usually be treated well with medication. But it can also lead to complications, hospitalization and even death. So it is particularly important how you protect yourself from pneumonia and what you absolutely must do if you are affected. I will now talk about these and other important points in the video 📽. What is pneumonia? Pneumonia describes the fact that the alveoli and/or the lung tissue are inflamed. If the alveoli are affected, this is known as alveolar pneumonia. If the inflammation affects the tissue, the disease is known as interstitial pneumonia. The most common is community-acquired pneumonia. This means that the disease is contracted outside of the hospital in a normal environment. In the case of community-acquired pneumonia, i.e. not acquired in the hospital, the pathogens are so-called pneumococci. These bacteria are the most common cause of pneumonia. I mention other pathogens such as chlamydia and viruses in the video. ❗A quick word about the risk groups❗: Newborns and small children People over 70 years of age Patients with a long hospital stay (intensive care unit) Patients with 👆 COPD, asthma 👆 immune deficiency 👆 diabetes mellitus 👆 renal insufficiency 👆 heart failure 👆 patients with immunosuppression due to autoimmune diseases, transplantation or cancer therapy Protective and hygiene measures (examples): 👉 Avoid contact with people with flu symptoms (fever, cough with sputum) 👉 Sneeze and cough properly: turn away from other people, keep a distance of one meter 👉 Put a tissue in front of your mouth and nose (alternatively: cough/sneeze into the crook of your arm) 👉 Reduce close physical contact to a minimum 👉 Wash your hands frequently (especially after coughing, sneezing or blowing your nose) 👉 Wash your hands properly wash → soap for 20-30 seconds (temperature can be chosen by yourself) 👉 use your own towel to dry off 👉 regularly ventilate 👉 avoid using a hot air dryer (spreads pathogens) More on this in the video 📽✅ ▬ About this channel ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ With “Video Visit Dr. Weigl” you have found the current and medical-scientific channel that describes topics relating to pain, #medicine and #health in an understandable way but based on facts, guidelines and studies.
